The Petromidia refinery, operated by Rompetrol, has resumed its activity and is operating at maximum capacity, Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan wrote on his social media page on Monday.
"The Petromidia refinery, operated by Rompetrol, has resumed its activity and is operating at maximum capacity for Romania. The maintenance work was carried out in record time, and the market needs were ensured throughout this period. Deliveries of petroleum products have been resumed, and the supply of gasoline and diesel continues without malfunctions. The Petromidia refinery covers approximately 27% of the domestic consumption of diesel and gasoline. In 2025, it refined approximately 5.9 million tons, of which almost 5.4 million tons of crude oil, and the rest other raw materials, producing approximately 5.8 million tons of finished products (1.66 million tons of gasoline and 2.52 million tons of diesel). The available volumes are directed with priority to its own network of stations, in order to ensure the continuity of supply at the pump. In "At the same time, where specific, critical situations arise, there is the capacity to quickly mobilize the volumes necessary to cover demand. The system works, stocks are managed responsibly, and supply continues under normal conditions," Ivan stated on Facebook.
