Minister-delegate for European Affairs George Ciamba on Monday presented Romania's priorities at the helm of the Council of the European Union during a meeting with the head World Bank's Office in Bucharest (country manager for Romania and Bulgaria), Tatiana Proskuryakova, according to Agerpres.
"On this occasion, the Romanian official presented Romania's priorities at the helm of the Council of the European Union, underscoring our country's interest in contributing to the process of consolidation of the European project and in bringing the citizens closer to the EU. He highlighted that the Romanian presidency will be focusing on the promotion of cohesion in all its three dimensions: political, economic and social. George Ciamba highlighted especially those actions to be organised during Romania's presidency of the Council of EU in relevant fields for the World Bank's activity and assured the WB representatives of Romania's willingness to cooperate in events of common interest," reads a release sent to AGERPRES by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In her turn, the head of the World Bank Office in Romania voiced interest in maintaining a deeper dialogue with the Romanian side, so as to support as much as possible the Romanian presidency of the Council of the EU. She also underscored the support and cooperation the World Bank is ready to give, based on its global experience in counseling in public policies and developing technical and financial assistance programmes.
The two also analysed the challenges that might affect economic growth in Romania, reads the same release.
