Manufacturers' new orders in Romania increased in by 0.2% in H1 2024 year-on-year, according to data published on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Between January 1 and June 30, 2024, the capital goods industry jumped 4.2%.
At the opposite end were the consumer goods industry and the durable goods industry, each down 5.7%, as well as the intermediate goods industry (-4.9%).
In June 2024 as against June 2023, manufacturers' new orders decreased in nominal terms by 3.4%, as a result of the negative results in the durable goods industry (-16.2%), the consumer goods industry (-8.7%), the intermediate goods industry (-5.7%) and the capital goods industry (-0.5%).
Manufacturers' new orders in Romania slightly up six months into 2024 NS data reveal that, in June 2024 as against May 2024, manufacturers' new orders were up 3.1% on increases in the capital goods industry (+5.4%), the consumer goods industry (+2.7%) and the durable goods industry (+1.1%).
On the other hand, the intermediate goods industry declined 0.8% on a monthly basis.
