The Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova, Natalia Plugaru, has requested Romania's support to finalise the Agreement on the repatriation of unaccompanied minors, a document currently under negotiation which is essential for ensuring the protection of children's rights in cross-border situations.
According to a release of Romania's Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, Minister Petre Florin Manole held a bilateral meeting in Bucharest with his counterpart from the Republic of Moldova. The discussions focused on cooperation in the area of labour and social protection, with an emphasis on child protection and support for institutional reforms. agerpres reports.
"In the first dialogue I had with Natalia Plugaru, the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Moldova, I told her that she can always count on my support. Our door is open and will remain open. Romania is ready to help with experience, with solutions and with real support, whenever it is needed. And when it comes to supporting the vulnerable, there is never an inappropriate moment. There is only the decision to act and the ability to work together," Florin Manole said in a post on his Facebook page.
The two officials also agreed on the renewal of the Cooperation Protocol between the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection (ANPIS) and counterpart institutions in the Republic of Moldova, with an emphasis on cooperation in the area of social inspection and the exchange of good practices.
Within the meeting, discussions also covered the manner in which the Republic of Moldova must implement the Child Guarantee, the fight against undeclared work, as well as the continuation of cooperation between employment institutions, including in the process of digitalisation and connection to European services.
