Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that on Tuesday a first meeting of the working group for the analysis and revision of the legislation in the field of justice would take place at the Government's seat, in order to identify certain legislative or administrative amendments that could improve the activity in this field.

"Tomorrow there will be the first meeting. Let's see what are the legislative aspects, what are the administration aspects that could be the responsibility of the Government, because we, if we find that there are certain modifications that could be made, that are found to improve things, with signals that come from within us and are supported by the coalition, so by the political world, we can promote them. They will be subject to analysis by the coalition, if they are supported, they can be promoted by the Government through a draft law. Or the Ministry of Justice, which has, I say, in Romania, one of the smallest possibilities of getting involved in the act of justice in Europe, from the position of member of the Higher Magistracy Council, the minister can make certain improvement proposals, because, today, the administration of the justice system, from almost all points of view, is up to the justice system. This is the truth", Ilie Bolojan said on Monday evening on Antena 3.

He stated that the main problem of the judiciary in Romania is the lack of trust in the system, when asked in the context of the consultations that President Nicusor Dan had on Monday, at the Cotroceni Palace, with representatives of the magistrates.

The second basic element - added Bolojan - is the administration of the justice system, how the judging panels are formed, how people are elected.

"Administration is very important, because administration can impact the length of a lawsuit. (...) And last but not least, whether we like it or not, the people are very important. You see, it is not the positions that matter, but the people (...). How you put a law into practice, whether we like it or not, as the law is an instrument", Bolojan also said.
