Almost half of Romanians believe that the government bears a large part of the blame for their current situation, according to the second edition of the Informat.ro Barometer - Inscop Research conducted between June 20 and 26.
As many as 46% of respondents strongly agree with the statement "I feel that the government bears a large part of the blame for my current situation", 24.6% somewhat agree, 9.7% somewhat disagree, and 17.3% strongly disagree. 2.4% of the respondents do not know or do not answer this question, agerpres reports.
Alliance of the Union of Romanians (AUR) voters, people between 45 and 60 years and residents of small urban areas agree with the statement in a higher proportion than the other categories of population. Save Romania Union (USR) voters, young people under 30 years and people with a higher education background express their disagreement with the statement.
As many as 48.2% of them express their total agreement with the statement "Those who succeed in Romania are not necessarily the most capable, but the most connected." 25.8% somewhat agree, 5.1% somewhat disagree, and 15.6% strongly disagree. The share of non-responses is 5.3% of the total.
They tend to agree with the statement to a greater extent than the rest of the population, especially National Liberal Party (PNL) and USR voters, young people under 30 years and public employees. Social Democratic Party (PSD ) and AUR voters, people over 60 years old and those with a primary education background disagree with the statement to a greater extent than the rest of the population.
As many as 49.5% of those surveyed totally agree with the statement "I have the feeling that the system is built in such a way as to keep you in place," 23.3% somewhat agree, 8.2% somewhat disagree, and 16.4% totally disagree. 2.6% of the total sample do not know or do not answer this question.
AUR voters, people with a secondary education background, residents of small urban areas and public employees tend to agree with this statement to a greater extent than the average. Especially PSD and USR voters, young people under 30 years old, people with a primary education background and residents of Bucharest and large urban areas disagree with the statement.
The statement "I feel that others have been unfairly helped, while I have been ignored" meets the total agreement of 38.6% of respondents. 20.2% somewhat agree, 11.3% somewhat disagree, and 25.4% strongly disagree. 4.4% do not know or do not answer the question.
Especially AUR voters, people between 30 and 44 years and rural residents agree with the statement. Disagreeing with the statement are especially USR voters, people with a higher education background and residents of Bucharest and large urban areas.
As many as 54.5% of the survey participants totally agree with the statement "I believe that the success of some is the result of a corrupt or unfair system", 21.7% somewhat agree, 5.5% somewhat disagree, and 15.2% totally disagree. The share of non-responses is 3.1% of the total sample.
People between 30 and 44 years, residents of Bucharest and private sector employees agree with the statement in a higher proportion than the other categories of population. PSD voters, people between 45 and 59 years and rural residents express their disagreement with the statement.
Barometer Informat.ro - Inscop Research is a monthly opinion poll conducted by Inscop Research, commissioned by the news platform Informat.ro, in partnership with the think-tank Strategic Thinking Group.
The research method was interviewed through the questionnaire. The data were collected using the CATI method (telephone interviews) on a stratified sample of 1,150 people, representative of the significant socio-demographic categories (sex, age, occupation) for the non-institutionalised population of Romania, aged 18 and over. The maximum permissible error of the data is ą 2.9%, at a confidence level of 95%.
