In the first 11 months of 2025, the volume of construction works increased both as gross series and as adjusted series by over 8% compared with the same period last year, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) data published on Tuesday.
The official data revealed that, between 1 January and 30 November 2025, the volume of construction works increased, as gross series, by 8.5% due to capital repair works (+48.0%) and new construction works (+6.1%). On the other hand, the maintenance and current repair works were down 4.4%, agerpres reports.
By construction objects, rises were reported for residential buildings (+13.3%), for non-residential buildings (+11.5%) and for engineering works (+5.7%).
According to the quoted source, as adjusted series according to the number of working days and to seasonality, the volume of construction works increased in the first 11 months of 2025 by 8.7% compared to the similar period of 2024 due to capital repair works (48.6%) and new construction works (6.8%). The maintenance and current repair works were down 5.7%.
By construction objects, the volume of construction works rose for residential buildings (+11.9%), for non-residential buildings (+9.1%) and for engineering works (+8.5%).
In November 2025 compared with November 2024, the volume of construction works decreased overall, as gross series, by 1.9% and by structure elements, drops were reported for maintenance and current repair works (-9.1%) and for new construction works (-5.7%). At the same time, the capital repair works increased by 34.2%.
By construction objects, a drop was recorded for engineering works (-16.5%). The residential buildings and the non-residential buildings were up 21.4% and 19.4%, respectively.
The volume of construction works increased overall in November 2025 compared with November 2024 , as adjusted series according to the number of working days and to seasonality, by 0.4% and by structure elements, a rise was reported for capital repair works (+42.7%). At the opposite pole, the maintenance and current repair works were down 7.1%, as well as the new construction works 3.4%.
Moreover, by construction objects, the volume of construction works rose for residential buildings (+23.6%) and for non-residential buildings (+21.8%). The engineering works declined by 10.9%.
According to the INS, in November 2025 vs October 2025, the volume of construction works declined both as gross series (-2.7%) and as adjusted series (-5.8%).
