IMM Romania has launched the project "IMM Romania - Leaders for Europe", co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus, aimed at strengthening social dialogue and enhancing the capacity of Romanian SMEs to be represented at European level through expertise, training and institutional cooperation.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES, the project responds to challenges generated by rapid changes in labour legislation, the transformation of business models and the European Union's new competitiveness objectives.
As part of this initiative, IMM Romania is setting up, for the first time, a European Affairs Department, which will act as a centre of expertise for employers' organisations and small and medium-sized enterprises. Its role will be to monitor, analyse and anticipate European policies and regulations with a direct impact on the business environment.
The organisation says it will regularly produce strategic analyses of European directives affecting the labour market and wage costs, artificial intelligence and business model transformation, European industrial policy, SME competitiveness, the green and digital transitions, and labour migration.
All materials will be centralised in a dedicated digital portal, 'European Affairs', integrated into the platform www.immromania.eu, to provide employers' organisations with fast access to relevant information and applied analysis.
The project also includes the organisation of European-level events in Brussels and Romania, the involvement of at least 38 entrepreneurs in exchanges of best practices, training for 125 people in key EU policy areas, and the drafting of a national guide on the implementation of European framework agreements.
"Through the IMM Romania - Leaders for Europe project, we are taking on an active role in repositioning the Romanian business environment as a relevant partner in the European economic architecture, capable of influencing the decisions that will shape the competitiveness of SMEs and Romania in the coming years," said Florin Jianu, President of IMM Romania, as quoted in the release.
