Romanian neurosurgery is recognized worldwide, proof of this being the very large participation of specialists in the field from four continents at the congress in Cluj-Napoca, the president of the Romanian Society of Neurosurgery, university professor Ioan Stefan Florian, PhD stated on Thursday.
"It is an anniversary event, but it is, at the same time, having so many guests, from four continents, a sign of recognition of the quality, of the standards of Romanian neurosurgery, because if you are not recognized, the world does not come. This is the first sign. And it is a sign of appreciation, but also of friendship towards Romanian neurosurgery. I believe that it is a great success because we managed to bring so many people of great value. For us, it represents a moment not only of assessment, but also of commitment for the future, for a better future of the specialty, but especially of the patients who address us," Stefan Florian told AGERPRES.
Stefan Florian thanked the participants at the opening event, including the president of the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies, university professor Torstein R. Meling, PhD, the mayor of Cluj-Napoca, Emil Boc, and neurosurgeon Vlad Ciurea.
Over 350 Romanian specialists and international guests from prestigious medical centres in the United States, Europe, Asia and South America are participating, between September 17 and 20, in Cluj-Napoca, in the 50th Congress of the Romanian Society of Neurosurgery, an anniversary event with the theme "Challenges in Neurosurgery: Present and Future".
