The government will convene this evening after the death of former President Ion Iliescu.
Featuring on the agenda of the sitting is approving a government decision declaring August 7 a day of national mourning, in memory of the late President of Romania, Ion Iliescu.
"A few minutes ago, a meeting of the committee in charge with holding a state funeral in honour of the former president ended," the Government Press Office announced.
Iliescu died on Tuesday at the age of 95.
