A memorandum on the implementation plan of the European Union directives for this year was approved on Thursday by the Government, announced the Executive's Spokesman Nelu Barbu, stating that internal legislative measures are needed to transpose 40 directives in Romania.
"There are 44 directives, of which four have already been fully transposed. For the other 40, internal legislative measures - laws, decisions, normative ministerial orders - have to be adopted. Many of these are in the process of approval, some are already in transposition process, " Nelu Barbu said on Thursday at a press conference at the Victoria Palace.
He also referred to the European directive on the presumption of innocence, when asked whether the current Executive will maintain the viewpoint of former Prime Minister Mihai Tudose, who said that if the Parliament does not transpose this directive, then the Government will intervene.
"I have no knowledge of this topic, I only know that in the respective memorandum on European directives, which will be adopted and will be transposed into the national legislation, these details are certainly established," said Nelu Barbu.
On the other hand, asked whether the Executive has approved a memorandum by which state companies are required to distribute at least 90 percent of profits to the state budget, Nelu Barbu replied: "It was adopted, it was on the agenda of the government meeting (...) This is not an element of novelty (...), such a memorandum was adopted last year and it was adopted in 2016. (...) If this memorandum had not been adopted, there would have been a negative impact on the revenues of the state budget (...) - 1.3 billion lei ".
He also said he was convinced that all investment plans of state-owned companies, which were adopted in their boards, "will be carried out."
