Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Romania Angela Ganninger paid her first official visit to Alba County on Monday, a county whose main trading partner is Germany.
According to the county administration, Ambassador Angela Ganninger met at the "Camil Velican" House in Alba Iulia with Alba County Council President Ion Dumitrel, Alba County Prefect Nicolae Albu and Alba Iulia city Mayor Gabriel Plesa. During the meeting, topics discussed included economic development and attracting German investment, with a focus on the Bosch and Star Assembly investments, German-style dual vocational education and its importance as a model for workforce training.
The talks also addressed the contribution of Saxon communities to cultural development and cooperation between the Centre Region and the State of Brandenburg, as well as the partnership between Alba County and Prignitz District.
After the official discussions, the German ambassador visited several historical and cultural sites in the Alba Carolina Citadel.
