The number of the people who have died from influenza since the beginning of the season of monitoring respiratory infections reached four, from January 15 to 21 being registered two deaths.
According to a centralization of the National Center for Communicable Disease Monitoring and Control, two new deaths, both confirmed with type A influenza virus, subtype H1pdm09, were recorded in the week 15-21 January.
It is about a 40-year-old man from Iasi County, and a woman of the same age, from Botosani County, both of whom having had pre-existing medical conditions and were unvaccinated.
"Since the beginning of the season 2017 - 2018 there were four confirmed cases of influenza virus, 2 type B and 2 type A, subtype H1pdm09, compared to 15 in the previous season, out of which 14 with type A influenza virus, subtype H3 and type 1 A, not sub-type," according to the quoted source.
Until January 21, some 771,573 people in the risk groups were vaccinated with the flu vaccine distributed by the Ministry of Health.
