Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Melescanu welcomed on Tuesday a group of accredited ambassadors to the United Nation in New York, who are visiting Romania in the context of attending a Seminar on "Food safety and climate changes" topic, organised by the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE).
On this occasion, the MAE informs that the head of the Romanian diplomacy underscored that the topic of the Seminar has been chosen to reflect Romania's commitment in terms of managing topical global matters within the UN.
In their turn, the foreign diplomats appreciated the MAE demarche to organise the Seminar, meant to share Romania's experience in managing some important topics included on the global agenda and highlighted the importance of UN's substantial involvement in identifying durable solutions to challenges in the area, that many states around the world are confronted with.
According to the MAE, representatives of Romania's profile institutions attended and held presentations at the Seminar, namely the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Environment, the National Agency for Natural Protected Areas, the National Environmental Guard, the National Meteorological Administration, the Agrarian Economy Institute, as well as representatives of the academia - the National School of Political and Administrative Studies, together with the International Association of Universities, which included this subject in the curriculum, within the wider theme of "Education for Sustainable Development."
