Football club CFR Cluj on Tuesday paid tribute to their former coach Jorge Costa, who died on Tuesday at the age of 53 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
"CFR 1907 Cluj expresses their deep regret and sadness for the passing of our former coach, Jorge Costa, at the age of just 53. Condolences to the grieving family! May God rest him in peace!," the sports organization wrote on its website.
The former Portuguese football director was at the helm of CFR Cluj between July 1, 2011 and April 9, 2012, leading it to 15 wins and 6 draws out of 26 matches.
In Romania, Costa also coached Gaz Metan Medias between September 30, 2020 and February 2, 2021.
The former international defender collapsed on Tuesday morning at FC Porto's training ground. He was rushed to hospital but died shortly after arrival, local media reports.
