Fifteen people from the Plauru locality in the Tulcea County have been evacuated, so far, after a ship loaded with LPG was engulfed in flames in the area of the Ismail city following a drone attack carried out on Ukrainian territory.
"Given the proximity to the Romanian territory and the nature of the cargo, the authorities have carried out a first assessment of the situation. They decided, in coordination with the specific department in the Ministry of Interior managing such emergency situations, to preventively evacuate people and animals nearby, a measure to be maintained until any risk for the population is eliminated," the Delta Inspectorate for Emergency Situations informs on Monday.
The people who were evacuated will be transported to the Ceatalchioi locality, where the local authorities will provide them shelter.
At the same time, the County Emergency Committee was activated, in order to permanently monitor and asses the situation, and to coordinate all necessary measures.
The chief inspector with the ISU and the county prefect, as well as fire brigades carrying out reconnaissance, monitoring and operational support missions, traveled to the area.
The mission continues at this hour.
