The Electric Castle Festival, which takes place in Bontida, Cluj County, started on Wednesday evening with the Romanian music band Iris.
"Cristi Minculescu and the band celebrating 35 years of career won a new generation of fans with the show held yesterday evening at Electric Castle. The emotion of their concert was quickly transformed into energy by Yousuke Yukimatsu, the DJ with an impressive life story. After surviving an aggressive cancer, the Japanese decided that life should be lived to the fullest and also convinced of the same thing the thousands of fans who danced until late into the night, to techno and break beat rhythms," reads a press release sent by the organizers to AGERPRES on Thursday.
However, the long-awaited show by festivalgoers is that of Justin Timberlake.
"The American superstar has arrived in Cluj, accompanied by a team of almost 100 technicians, dancers and musicians. His show will start at 10.30 pm, and he will run through all the hits of his impressive career. Winner of 10 Grammy Awards, 4 Emmy Awards, 7 AMA, Oscar nominee, Justin Timberlake also receives, as of today, the title of 'Prince of pop at the castle'. Until the most anticipated show of the day, Electric Castle offers a strong infusion of rock on the Hangar stage, with Bad Nerves and Refused, the band that chose Bontida to hold its last concert in Eastern Europe before ending a career that redefined the punk style in the 2000s. Also, known for the unique way in which they built their fan community, through viral street performances, the Irish from The Scratch are coming to Romania for the first time," the organizers also reveal.
Another 70 activities are prepared to create the complete festival experience, throughout the Electric Castle period.
The festival takes place o July 16-20, at the Banffy Castle in Bontida.
