The head of the Emergency Situations Department (DSU), Raed Arafat, announced on Thursday evening that starting with May 15, the measure of suspension of flights carried out by air operators to and from several states will be extended for a period of 14 days.
"The suspension of flights is extended to Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Spain, the USA, Turkey and Iran to Romania, for all airports in Romania, for a period of 14 days, starting with May 15," said Raed Arafat.
Arafat explained that several categories of flights are exempted from these measures: those performed by state aircraft, those for the transport of goods and correspondence, humanitarian and providing emergency medical services, those intended for rescue and search in emergency situations, transport of technical intervention teams, non-commercial technical landings, etc.
Also, the head of DSU announced that the international road passenger transport is suspended by special and occasional regular services for all trips performed by transport operators to and from Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Great Britain, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Turkey, until 1 June.
