Deputy Prime Minister Viorel Stefan voiced on Thursday "Romania's firm interest" in furthering the partnership with China for the finalization of certain economic projects.
"In my capacity as coordinator of the inter-ministerial Committee for economic cooperation projects with the People's Republic of China, I am encouraged by the diversity of the economic and sectoral projects on the bilateral relations' agenda, in transports, energy, tourism, automotive industry, industrial parks' development. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate Romania's firm interest in continuing the partnership with China to finalise these projects cordially, pragmatically," Viorel Stefan said at the reception of China's National Day.
He specified that "a paramount pillar" of the Romanian-Chinese friendship relationship is given by the cooperation between the local administrations, mirrored through 16 twinning projects between counties of Romania and provinces of China, and by 29 such twinning relations between cities of Romania and China.
Moreover, Viorel Stefan emphasized that the numerous exchanges of visits in culture, education, tourism, sport and youth have contributed to the mutual knowledge of the Romanian and Chinese societies, cultures and civilizations, thus enhancing the two countries' friendship.
"In the perspective of the year 2019, when Romania and China will celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations, I voice my full confidence that the Romanian-Chinese dialogue and cooperation relationship will know new evolution and accomplishment through joint efforts to promoting a beneficial mutual development and in the same friendship, honesty and trustworthiness atmosphere that has accompanied us the long of the seven decades," Viorel Stefan highlighted.
He added that 2018 has been "a good year" for the Romania-China top level political dialogue, materialized through the visit to Bucharest of certain high-ranking Chinese state officials.
