Dacia recorded in 2915 a new commercial record, with sales of 550,920 units, up 7.7pct year on year, reads a release issued on Monday for AGERPRES.
"This increase was generated by the excellent performance of the entire Dacia range, with three of the brand's models (Sandero, Duster and Logan) having sold almost 100,000 units. In 2015, Dacia managed the highest increase in sales in the past four years. With 36,946 vehicles sold (+24.5pct from 2014), Dacia consolidates its leading position on the Romanian market, with almost one third of the new vehicle sales.
Dacia also launched new limited editions, new trims, and thus each Dacia model was in 2015 the leader of its segment.
"With over 16,100 sold units, which means some 43pct of total sales, Dacia Logan saloon remains the basis of the Dacia brand in Romania. In 2015, the Logan offer got enriched with a new top-of-the-range version, called Prestige. The MCV model, with 3,111 units sold, established itself as the best-selling station wagon model in Romania. Duster comes second, with 7,271 units sold. Sandero (with the Stepway version included), dominates the B-segment hatchback by far, with almost 5,600 units sold, and ranks 3rd in the models' rankings. The Lodgy and Dokker models recorded rising sales in 2015, supported largely by the success of new Stepway versions," reads the release.
As to international markets, Dacia sold 513,974 cars last year, by 6pct more than in 2014.
Dacia believes in 2016 it will keep and consolidate its leading position on the Romanian car market, due to its full range and quality of services.
