The Romanian Customs Authority has rendered operational a new functionality of the EMCS-RO Movements app, which allows customs workers to access and use the data stored in the Trezor system, the Romanian Customs Authority (AVR) announced on Monday.

Thus, customs workers can now easily identify the payment document whereby the recipient in Romania has paid the excise duties for an intra-Community purchase of excise goods with excises payable in another member state (movements accompanied by e-DAS) and can validate the payment much faster.

In this context, the Romanian Customs Authority requests the recipients of excisable products to pay special attention to correctly filling out the payment order, because an incorrect/incomplete Administrative Reference Code results in the impossibility of the electronic validation of the payment and consequently to extending the time for the receipt's transmission to the country of dispatch, until the necessary information is obtained from the financial administrations.

The Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) is a computerized system for recording and monitoring the movement of excise goods (alcohol, tobacco and energy products) on the territory of the EU, and is a key facility for EU companies that market excisable products, and an essential tool for information exchange and cooperation between member states.
