President of the Botosani County Council, Valeriu Iftime, who also serves as president of the Botosani Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, met on Wednesday with China's ambassador to Romania, Chen Feng.

The meeting focused on potential economic partnerships between Chinese companies and entrepreneurs and businesses from Botosani, highlighting the county's strategic position on the border with Ukraine.

"Our idea is to develop Chinese businesses together with Romanian partners in our region, using our opportunities in agriculture, renewable energy and textiles. This is what we currently have to offer. I told them what resources we can provide. The interest is to stay close to this area near Ukraine, which can also serve as a support point for the country's reconstruction," Iftime said.

The discussions were also attended by Daniel Davidel, president of the Romanian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Suceava.
