The city of Bistrita is a pilot city in Romania under the "Young Ambassadors for Greener Cities" programme run by WWF Romania, according to the Bistrita City Hall.

The programme, in which the city of Brasov is also involved, unfolds between August and December and is open to young people, with the aim of developing ideas and recommendations on how cities can become more adjusted to climate change.

"Bistrita and Brasov are the first two pilot cities in Romania involved in this project, and the programme is aimed at young enthusiasts from these two cities. The suggested activities are: thematic workshops; #WeLoveBistrita campaign, which aims to discover why people love the city of Bistrita - the campaign will take place online, throughout October 2024; a marathon of green ideas to gather suggestions on how to make cities more environmentally friendly and better adjusted to climate change," says the Bistrita City Hall.

The programme is open to young people aged between 14 and 35, from Brasov and Bistrita, interested in the environment and climate change, who want to contribute to a sustainable future. The deadline for registration is August 15.

To join in, a form available on the WWF Romania website has to be filed in, based on which the organisation will select the participants.
