The pair made up of Romanian tennis player Irina Begu and Czech Barbora Krejcikova was defeated by the pairing made up of Xinyun Han (China)/Darija Jurak (Croatia), 6-4, 4-6, 10-8, on Wednesday, in the quarterfinals of the doubles event in Tianjin (China), WTA tournament, featuring total prizes of 750,000 US dollars.
Begu and Krejcikova, top seeds, were defeated after an hour and 36 minutes.
The Romanian-Czech duo will receive a cheque worth 3,852 US dollars and 60 doubles WTA points.
For the singles event, Irina Begu was surprisingly defeated, on Tuesday, in the first round, by Chinese player Yuxuan Zhang (WTA's 225), who arrived from qualifications.
