The daily work of teachers in Romania could be streamlined with the help of Livresq Companion, an AI-powered teaching assistant developed with the support of Google.

The assistant was launched by Ascendia, according to a pres release sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) on Thursday.

The new tool has already seen strong uptake: under a recently signed agreement with an educational partner, more than 10,000 teachers across 800 schools in Romania are expected to begin using the assistant in the coming months.

Livresq Companion provides teachers with a clear and user-friendly workspace from which they can generate lesson plans, activity suggestions, worksheets, assessment tools, and content adapted to different classroom levels. Instead of fragmented processes and a heavy load of repetitive tasks, teachers are offered a digital support system that delivers fast, structured responses aligned with the Romanian curriculum.

The tool is available online on an invitation-only basis, the statement notes.

"Through Livresq Companion, we are offering teachers a reliable support tool tailored to Romania's national curriculum. We developed this component in response to a pressing need in schools: reducing bureaucracy and administrative overload. Our aim is to turn hours spent on repetitive tasks into just minutes of efficient work, giving teachers back the time needed for what truly matters - the educational process itself and their connection with pupils," said Alex Malureanu, co-founder and CMO of Ascendia.

Development of the system was accelerated through Ascendia's participation in the Google for Startups Growth Academy: AI for GovTech, a programme supporting companies building AI-based solutions for areas of strategic public impact.

"Supporting Ascendia through our AI for GovTech programme reflects Google's commitment to fostering innovation with real-world impact, in the service of the public good. Livresq Companion clearly demonstrates how artificial intelligence can support teachers by reducing administrative burdens and allowing them to focus more on what truly matters: inspiring their students," said Elisabeta Moraru, Regional Director for Google CEE.

The new component integrates seamlessly into the Livresq ecosystem, supporting the teaching workflow. Teachers can personalise their experience by completing a professional profile, enabling AI-generated responses to be tailored to their subject, classes and teaching style, while also accessing resources from the Livresq Digital Library.

"I am pleased to see the launch of Livresq Companion, a solution that combines Google's advanced AI capabilities with pedagogical expertise to help more than 10,000 teachers in Romania turn time spent on administrative tasks into real classroom impact," added Tim Eck.

To support large-scale implementation, a key factor in GovTech digitalisation projects, the solution also includes tools for school management. These allow institutions to manage licences efficiently, allocate teacher access and monitor account status, making the platform easy to administer at institutional level.

Ascendia continues to expand the Livresq ecosystem with tools designed to bring technology closer to teachers, schools and students in a practical and accessible way.

The company develops comprehensive digital education solutions for large-scale systems, ranging from corporations to local and central public administrations. It is a member of the European Commission's expert group on digital educational content and a provider of e-learning services for the Council of Europe.

Ascendia is listed on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The educational ecosystem developed by Ascendia is currently used by more than 161,100 creators across nearly 7,300 institutions and companies. It enables training teams within large organisations to rapidly produce courses, interactive lessons and open educational resources, and to distribute them in open standards (SCORM), compatible with existing learning management systems (LMS).
