The world is currently going through "a phase of strong transition," which can produce dangers, but also opportunities, the ambassador of Romania to Jordan and Yemen, George Maior, told Monday's launch of his book "Superpolitik - Superpolitics. Triumph and strategic failure."
"The fundamental thesis from which I started in this book is the critical relationship, proven as such in history, between power and justice, legitimacy, in the way of building a political order, regardless of whether we are talking about the political order in ancient times, in medieval times, or in the nuclear age, as I say in the book. This relationship, if it does not exist in a balance, will generate multiple consequences - some disastrous from the point of view of stability effects, from the point of view of confrontation, some good, from a judicial point of view, but with the possibility of destroying the idea of justice, if it is used in excess, beyond some rational frames," said George Maior.
At the same time, Maior said that one of the major themes of his volume is the excess of power.
"Today we are in a phase of strong transition, which can and does produce many dangers, but which can also generate opportunities, if this balance is found between a model of understanding power and a cultural model of understanding legitimacy," Maior said.
The book "Superpolitik - Superpolitics. Triumph and strategic failure" was published by the Rao publishing house and will be translated into English.
