CS Rapid Bucharest has qualified for the quarterfinals of the EHF Women's European League after defeating Norwegian side Tertnes Bergen 30-28 (16-13) on Sunday in Ulset, in a match from Group C.
Rapid, undefeated so far, dominated the match from start to finish.
The goals for the Bucharest team were scored by Estavana Polman 8, Albertina Da Cruz Kassoma De Almeida 5, Mariana Ferreira Lopes 4, Aissatou Kouyate 4, Djazz Moreen Clara Chambertin 2, Gabriela Maria Tulea 2, Alexandra Toepfner 2, Viktoria Shamanovskaia 2, Dorina Korsos 1.
Diana Cristiana Ciuca saved 5 shots (16.67%).
For the Scandinavians, the scorers were Nora Evelina Cecilia Rosenberg 9 goals, Avril Mikkelsen Frei 5, Stella Waagan Kruse 4, Birgitte Karlsen Hagen 3, Emma Holtet 2, Marthe Hatloey Walde 1, Sara Eline Lauritzen 1, Fanny Skindlo 1, Maria Bergslien Gald 1, Marie Kristine Rokkones Hansen 1.
Helle Kjellberg-Line made 9 saves (25.71%).
CS Rapid Bucharest is leading the group with 8 points (5 games), followed by Lokomotiva Zagreb with 5 points (4 games), Tertnes Bergen with 3 points (5 games), and VfL Oldenburg with 2 points (4 games). The top two teams will qualify for the quarterfinals.
In the final round, on February 22, CS Rapid will face Lokomotiva Zagreb in Bucharest.
