Unit 1 of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant will be shut down in a controlled manner on Friday evening to carry out remedial work in the conventional part of the plant, Nuclearelectrica company announced in a report sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
"Nuclearelectrica announces that Unit 1 of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant will be shut down in a controlled manner on the evening of March 6, 2026. The controlled shutdown of Unit 1 is necessary to carry out remedial work in the conventional part of the plant, without impact on the nuclear part," the report reads.
According to the cited source, the controlled shutdown of Unit 1, as well as the remedial work in the conventional part, are being carried out in accordance with the applicable procedures of the Cernavoda plant, without impact on nuclear safety, personnel or the environment.
