The Spanish acrobat injured during a circus performance in Craiova has been admitted to the Bagdasar-Arseni Clinical Emergency Hospital in Bucharest, in the spinal surgery ward, with a severe spinal and thoracic injury, the medical unit said on Monday.
According to the hospital, the acrobat requires surgery but has requested to be transferred to Spain.
"Regarding the Spanish acrobat injured in Craiova - he is hospitalised in the spinal surgery ward with a severe spinal and thoracic injury. He requires surgical intervention but has requested to be transferred to Spain. The necessary steps are being taken in this regard," the same source said.
The 39-year-old Spanish acrobat was taken to hospital after losing his balance and falling from a height of four metres during a circus performance in Craiova, the Dolj County Police Inspectorate informed on Sunday.
