Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will visit Brussels next week, where he will meet with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, official government sources told AGERPRES.
This information is also confirmed by the agenda of the President of the European Commission.
The visit takes place at a time when the authorities in Bucharest are holding discussions within the governing coalition on the drafting of the state budget law for the current year, taking into account the European funds that are to support the investment component of the budget.
At the same time, in the next two to three weeks, Romania is expected to receive an official response from the European Commission regarding the status of funds related to the PNRR milestone concerning magistrates' pensions, namely the amount of 231 million.
The government is also awaiting approval from the European Executive regarding payment request no. 4.
"Payment request 4, worth 2.62 billion, is at an advanced stage of, let's say, consultation and verification by the European Commission. As I said publicly, in March we will most likely get the go-ahead, the green light from the European Commission for payment, and this is exactly within the European Commission's deadline," said Minister of Investment and European Projects Dragos Pislaru.
