The Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Daniel, sent a message on Tuesday, on the occasion of Holy Easter, in which he urges to peace, brotherly love and good deeds in the family and in society.

"The Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ or Holy Easter is the greatest feast of the Church, because the Resurrection of Christ is the beginning or pledge of the resurrection of all people as the definitive victory of life over death. Therefore, the Orthodox Creed concludes with this confession 'I await the resurrection of the dead and the life of the age to come!'. The Resurrection of Christ is not the return to earthly human life, mixed with suffering and the fear of death, but is the entry of man into another life, into eternal heavenly life. Therefore, on the night of Easter, the Orthodox Church sings: 'Today we celebrate the killing of death and the beginning of another eternal life.' The first words spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ on the morning of His Resurrection from the dead were addressed to the myrrh-bearing women: 'Rejoice, do not be afraid!', and on the evening of His Resurrection He addressed His disciples, saying: 'Peace be with you!'. Therefore, Holy Easter is the celebration of joy and peace, of forgiveness and communion in the family, in the community, in the people and in the whole world", the Patriarch transmits.

The head of the Romanian Orthodoxy calls for peace and understanding between peoples. "The celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ calls us to show joy and peace, fraternal love and good deeds around us, in the family and in society, to help the poor and lonely, to pray for the suffering, but also for Romanians among foreigners, especially to pray for peace and understanding between peoples", the message of Patriarch Daniel reads.

"Warm wishes of peace and joy, health and happiness, together with the Easter greeting 'Christ is Risen!, 'Truly He is Risen!'", Patriarch Daniel added.
