The total number of confirmed cases of measles in Romania until March 10 is 3,446, the illness being recorded in 37 counties of the country, 17 of which resulted in the death of the patients, informs INSP (The National Public Health Institute) on the institution's website.
Of the 17 people who passed away, five were in Arad County, 4 in Timis County, 3 respectively in Dolj and Caras-Severin, and one in Satu Mare county and one in Bucharest. According to the same source, cases of measles were recorded in 37 counties of the country.
"As a measure to restrict the extension of measles, a vaccination campaign for children aged between 9 months and 9 years has been organized and is being conducted at national level," adds INSP.
