The Labor Inspectorate applied sanctions of over seven million lei in just a few days and discovered almost 500 people working without legal forms, sounded an alarm on Thursday, the Minister of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, Florin Manole, in a Facebook post.
"What we found this week is not just a statistic. It is an alarm signal. In just a few days, the Labor Inspectorate applied sanctions of over seven million lei. Almost 500 people were working without legal forms. It is not a little. It is not normal. And it cannot be ignored. I said we would carry out constant checks. We are doing them," the minister wrote.
The Labor Inspectorate announced, also on Thursday, that, in the week of March 30 - April 3, it carried out 1,859 checks at national level and imposed fines totaling 7.092 million lei.
At the same time, 491 people were identified as performing undeclared work, 1,152 sanctions (fines and warnings) were applied, and three pieces of work equipment were stopped to prevent serious accidents.
