Health Minister Alexandru Rafila in Timisoara on Friday said that there are currently around 1,000 cases per day of infection with the novel coronavirus, estimating that there will be an increase in the next one to two weeks, after which the situation should return to normal.
Responding to a question from AGERPRES, the Health Minister stressed that the measures to be taken are the usual ones in any situation where we have diseases with respiratory transmission.
"The measures are those that are usually taken when discussing a respiratory transmissible disease. Each health facility takes internal legal measures to limit transmission in the hospital, grouping patients according to the situation. We have around 1,000 cases per day at the moment, but we are only talking about some overcrowding in some infectious disease hospitals. But the measures that are being taken for influenza, for example, are similar for the new coronavirus infection. We will probably have one or two more weeks of increase and then the situation will begin to return to normal," said Minister Alexandru Rafila.
The Ministry of Health sent out the latest report on the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, September 5, according to which there were 583 people with COVID-19 admitted to health units at that time.
According to the Ministry of Health, 45 patients were admitted to the ICU, 28 of whom were not vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2.
Of the total number of patients admitted, 110 were minors, 108 were admitted to the wards and two to the ICU.
According to that report, 12 deaths were reported by the National Institute of Public Health in the last week - five males and seven females, all had comorbidities, and three were vaccinated against COVID.
HealthMin: We'll probably have one-two weeks wiht more SARS-CoV-2 infections, then back to normal
