Sports car manufacturer Ferrari congratulated the teachers of the 'Gheorghe Sincai' Technological High School in Targu Mures for the way they trained a graduate who has become one of the company's most appreciated designers.
"Our students were doing their internship at an Italian company here in Targu Mures, and one of them stood out among his peers. He had also competed in the National Olympiad in mechanics. The company insisted so much that our graduate gave up plans to attend college and stayed on to work there as a designer. After about a year, he was sent to Italy, and now he is a designer at Ferrari. Our greatest joy was when the company management called us to congratulate us. It's something to have Ferrari call you and thank you for the way you trained such a student! That's why I say, there aren't many like him, but there are, and it proves that if you want and set your mind to it, you can build a career even by graduating from a technological high school," Antoaneta Maria Rauca, director of the 'Gheorghe Sincai' Technological High School in Targu Mures, told the press.
She added that young people only need the desire to pursue a profession, as the school provides a logistics base unique in Romania.
"In all technological high schools there are teachers who put in effort and want to produce good professionals. Our greatest joy is when we see our graduates doing well - whether as car mechanics or in construction. Although some qualifications are not available in Romania, I want to see them in technical jobs, not just as supermarket cashiers or security guards. They are trained for something completely different, but that requires knowing and wanting to work in the profession they have," Antoaneta Maria Rauca emphasized.
Teacher Sorin Tautan of the same high school presented to the press an equipment that is unique among technological high schools in Romania, used to train future car mechanics and electricians.
"Here, students study automotive electrical equipment. We have functional stands where they do practical training. The theoretical part is put into practice in this laboratory, because the stands are fully operational - they are for the Volkswagen Golf 5. There is a tester, and each stand is designed for didactic use, just like the car you see. The equipment is for automotive diagnostics and electrical systems. Our students have the chance to train on equipment that is unique in technological high schools across the country. (...) Here they learn troubleshooting on the engine and electrical systems, detecting defects and errors that occur in a car. The students enjoy it, because it is different, easier to teach, and easier to remember. As future professionals, they need to feel and actually see where the defect occurs and how to fix it," Sorin Tautan told AGERPRES.
He explained how the students train on the school's dedicated car and how everyone contributes to keeping the auto mechanics and electrical workshop "like a pharmacy".
"Each stand can also simulate errors and defects, which the students have to repair. This VW car, made especially for simulation, has been part of the school's equipment since 2017. Thanks to strong training, over 80% of our graduates end up working in service stations in Targu Mures, across the county, abroad, and even at Ferrari. As you can see, everything is perfectly maintained, the work is done very cleanly, so every detail can be noticed," the teacher said.
Students at the school say they want to pursue careers in the fields they are training for, and the fact that a former colleague is now a designer at Ferrari gives them new perspectives on their professional future.
The 'Gheorghe Sincai' Tehnological High School in Targu Mures is also involved in numerous projects, including dual technical education programs with the 'George Emil Palade' University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology, as well as collaborations with fertilizer producer Azomures. Through this partnership, ten final-year students benefit from professional retraining aimed at integrating them into local industries and ensuring qualified personnel in key economic sectors.
