Nearly 157,000 people were integrated into the labour market in 2025, according the National Employment Agency (ANOFM) data published on Friday.
Of the total number of people employed last year, 77,186 are over 45 years old, 29,828 are aged between 35 and 45, 12,544 are between 30 and 35, 12,690 are between 25 and 30, while 24,718 are young people under 25. Moreover, 28,406 are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) young people, agerpres reports.
According to the quoted source, the number of women employed stands at 75,866, while men account for 81,100, representing 48.33 percent and 51.67 percent of the total, respectively.
By residence, in the reference period, 82,945 employed persons come from urban areas, while 74,021 are from rural areas.
Regarding the level of education of those for whom a job was identified, most have completed upper secondary education (52,916), vocational education (35,877) or lower secondary education (35,230), while 20,108 have higher education qualifications.
Moreover, of the total number of people employed through the ANOFM in the previous year, 42,674 fall into the categories of hard-to-place and very hard-to-place jobseekers.
In a ranking of counties with the highest number of people employed, Bucharest ranks first with 15,135, followed by Iasi with 6,378 and Timis with 6,134.
At the same time, in 2025, the number of people who benefited from assistance for registration as jobseekers, in order to secure social protection through unemployment benefits or inclusion in active labour market measures, stood at 435,213.
