Senate President Mircea Abrudean stated on Monday that the competent institutions must carefully investigate the justice problems presented in the documentary Recorder, noting that, with regard to Minister Catalin Predoiu, a balanced analysis is necessary, given that the currently contested justice laws led to the lifting of the MCV.

"I believe that things must be analyzed very well. What was presented in the documentary Recorder obviously must be carefully investigated by the competent institutions and the result of these investigations must be seen. Of course, if they prove to be real, measures will have to be taken. Regarding the activity of Minister Predoiu, I would not like to comment, because we must take into account several aspects here. Of course, the emotion is major and then the tendency is to demand different actions," said Abrudean, when asked about the street protests regarding justice and the requests for the dismissal of Minister Catalin Predoiu.

He added that we must also analyze what Minister Predoiu did well.

"Let's also look at what Minister Predoiu did well, the fact that these justice laws, which are currently being contested, led to the lifting of the CVM, the fact that he made an important contribution to Schengen accession. These are things that should count in such an evaluation. The issues must be analyzed calmly, after a serious analysis, a serious investigation, and, if it is found that someone made a mistake, obviously measures must be taken," Abrudean also said.

The documentary Recorder features several prosecutors and judges, some with protected identities, who reveal how the leadership of the Bucharest Court of Appeal routinely changes judges on the bench to obtain favorable decisions for individuals accused of corruption. Among the cases analyzed are those of Marian Vanghelie, Cristian Burci and Puiu Popoviciu.
