Social Democratic Party (PSD) Chairman Sorin Grindeanu said on Wednesday that at the meeting between the leaders of the coalition parties and the head of state at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace, everyone was 'concerned with solving issues and unblocking certain topics.'
Grindeanu was asked on Digi 24 private television broadcaster what had been discussed at Tuesday afternoon's meeting with President Nicusor Dan at Cotroceni Palace, agerpres reports.
'Both the budget and matters unrelated to the budget. As for the legislative side, for example, we also discussed this absolutely necessary law currently in Parliament, the femicide law, and he asked for details. Things of this sort. (...) He informed us, for example, of a wish of the Presidential Administration, and I am completely open to this and offer my full support, to increase the aid that Romania has provided in Gaza. You know that we managed to take care of around 120 children brought to the country, who together with their accompanying persons amount to somewhere around 300 people, and there is now a commitment to increase this number to about 1,000. The president presented his opinion and we agreed,' the PSD leader replied.
He was also asked what the atmosphere had been like at the meeting at Cotroceni Presidential Palace.
'One that did not match at all what appeared in the press. Everyone was concerned with solving issues and unblocking certain topics, certain drafts that seem to have been blocked,' Sorin Grindeanu also said.
